The creation of district web pages is a way of sharing information about Laurel Springs School District’s curriculum, school-sponsored activities, and other information related to our schools.

 

Developing and publishing of district web pages are to be made by district employees through authorized district personnel.

 

Content Standards

 

A.        All subject matter and links must relate to curriculum, school-sponsored activities and other information relating to Laurel Springs School District

 

B.         All web pages must be free of spelling and grammatical errors.  Web documents may not contain objectionable material or link to objectionable material.

 

Student Safeguards

 

A.        Published student work shall contain only the first name of the student(s).

 

B.         Published student photographs shall contain only the first name of the student(s).

 

C.        Documents shall not contain students’ phone number, home addresses, email addresses or the names of family members or friends.

 

D.        Published email addresses should be the sponsoring teacher’s district email address.

 

E.         No student work shall be published without the signed permission of the student and parent or guardian.

 

F.         No copyrighted materials may be developed or transmitted through the district’s web server.

 

G.        All web materials shall have no offensive content, including racial, religious, violence, profanity or sexual harassment.

 

H.        The district technology coordinator shall be responsible for the technical standards of the district web pages.

 

Violation of this policy by employees may result in a loss of access to the district server by the superintendent and reported to the Board of Education.  The superintendent shall review these procedures annually.
